Humanitarian support
Despite being a relatively unknown self-publishing author, I try to support good causes whenever I can, depending on what I can share. I have done voluntary work in the past and when I can, I still do, as a buddy for Ukrainian refugees.
I couldn’t build a Substack page without sharing some of the good causes my heart is passionate about. They all do a fantastic job and often put their lives on the line to help others! Please consider sharing something you can spare to one of these amazing organizations:
WCK is first on the frontlines, providing meals in response to humanitarian, climate, and community crises. When disaster strikes, WCK’s Relief Team mobilizes to the frontlines with the urgency of now to start cooking and provide meals to people in need. By partnering with organizations on the ground and activating a network of local restaurants, food trucks, or emergency kitchens, WCK serves comforting meals to survivors of disasters quickly and effectively. We know that good food provides not only nourishment, but also comfort and hope, especially in times of crisis.
WCK has provided more than 400 million fresh, nourishing meals for communities around the world. Your donation today will be used to support our emergency food relief efforts.
Every day, our teams are saving lives in hard-to-reach communities – whether in war zones or remote villages. We train frontline health workers in communities to diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses like pneumonia, diarrhoea, malaria and newborn sepsis, empowering them to provide services that are proven to reduce child deaths.
We ensure the most vulnerable families have the funds to give their children the right kind of food and care needed to stay healthy. We ensure that expectant mothers and babies receive care and information before, during and after childbirth so that babies have the best chances of surviving, growing and developing. And we work with adolescents, their families and their communities to ensure that young people's particular health needs are met.
We also work with local and national governments to strengthen policies and systems so that no child dies from a preventable cause.
Doctors Without Border offers medical humanitarian assistance to people based solely on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation. Our teams of doctors, nurses logisticians, and other frontline workers are often among the first on the scene when people’s lives are upended by conflict, disease outbreaks or natural or human-made disasters.
The decision to respond is based solely on our independent assessment of medical needs. We work to ensure that our teams can reach people in need without restriction and provide aid directly.
Thank you!
